I grew up in Hacienda Heights.
We used to Drag Race on Colima between Stoner creek and Azusa. Of corse Stoner creek didnt exist back then. It did not even go under the 60. the only place there was ShowBoat. Alot of guys would cruse aroun that area lookin for a race. I was one one em !! :D

Grew up in the Pasadena the hot rod and muscle car capitol of the US in the sixties. Worked at the Standard Station on Colorado and Hill and put gas in the little old ladies super stock Dodge many times. Moved to Orange County for 25 years and retired to the high desert 20 years ago.

We used to meet at Fudruckers on Foothill in Pasadena until they tore it down. The weekly car show was moved from Fudruckers to the El Monte airport every Sat night.

Chevelles or Musle Cars in general are pretty rare now days in Rowland Heights. In high school we used to meet at Friscos by the 60, until the import gangs started hanging out there the same nights...

East L.A. here! :D Hey, I "grew up" going to Frisco's back in '99. There was ALWAYS imports there, but always more Mustangs, Camaros, and other American muscle! :D

Anyone know if they still have the cruise at Friscos on Tuesday nights? Anyone going to Giovanis in Fullerton tonight? Ill be there...

To the best of my knowledge, yes, they still have the meet up/gathering at Frisco's in Downey on wednesday nights. I haven't been there in years, but would like to go one of these days! :)

Actually I was referring to the Friscos in Industry. Have heard the Downey one was pretty good...Never been though.

I've lived in La Puente since I was 2 (21 now). I remember the Malibu Showboat. Loved that place growing up. I was sad when the tore it down to build the Malibu Speedzone that is there now. Sure the Speedzone has more go-kart tracks and the mini-golf is still there but it isn't the same. The golf was better in the Showboat days and there was the bumper boats and the batting cages, so fun! By the time I came along the old waterslides had been shut down though, I heard it was due to fatalities.

I used to make runs from Stoner Creek to Azusa when I was 17/18 after football games and other gatherings at the In-n-out. But I stopped doing that after the first time someone pulled out of the business parks' lot and I had to get on the brakes real hard. By the end of football season the cops showed up every Friday anyway.

Now I keep 99% of my adventures at Irwindale and Fontana.
