: continuing cooling concern ????

My 69 Chevelle with 454 has a serpentine belt system, Flexalite puller fan with shroud, 180 EMP Stewart thermostat, sending unit in the intake by the thermostat housing, and 40/60 antifreeze with 2 bottles of Water Wetter.
The water pump definately flows good sighting the flow through the radiatior opening.
The radiator is a standard BB GM piece and is in good shape. The Flexalite comes on at 190.
On the road the gague reads 185-190, in town driving it reads 210-215. Is this too hot ?
I'm considering putting a fan blade on the Serpentine fan pulley and a regular BB fan shroud on to see it it helps in town.
Any thoughts ?
The next step would be an aftermarket radiator but I wonder if that's the wrong direction considering the cost.
I also think a 160 thermostat would be too low particularly on colder days.
Thanks.

Is your timing advanced enough?

215° won't hurt you much, but it's hotter than most would like to see - if everything else is functioning well, you may need a better radiator, particularly if yours is an old one, even in good shape.

Not enough airflow at idle.

FAL is famous for overrating the capability of their fans. Get a Spal or Derale (they do not have overinflated cfm ratings) or an OEM one like the MK VIII, Taurus, or dual F-body dual Windstar, etc.
