: Edelbrock RPM Rocker Problem

I just bought a 74 chevy pick-up for the aluminum headed 350 that was in the truck. Heads are Performer RPM's, Part Num. 6089. I had just cleaned the motor up and pulled the valve covers to verify it had the comp cams roller tipped rockers the owner claimed. It has the rockers, the problem is several of them only run half on the valve stem. The geometry appears to be good, centered on the stem, but many of them only half of the roller is on the stem, as viewed from the side. So, front to rear they hang off the side of the valve stem. The heads have Edelbrock guide plates, and to correct the problem it looks as though some material would have to be ground from the intake runner of the head to move the puch rod enough to center the rocker. Does this sound like a head, guide plate, or rocker problem? Any in-put would be greatly appreciated. Oh, and Happy Easter to all.
Thanks,
Roy

Easiest fix is Isky's adjustable guide plates.
I doubt the head will have a clearance problem as you will only be moving the pushrod a slight amount.
Part #202-AGP for 5/16's

I have them in stock if you need them.

from what i remember from my head install.. the guideplates that come with the rpms are adjustable. Dont go buy new guideplates if you dont need them!

The guide plates aren't adjustable, and some of them need to move a lot. At least 4 rockers per head hang half off the valve stem and the push rod hits the intake runner before the guide plate on at least 2 per head. (when I physically move the rocker to center it on the valve stem)
I think I will pull the intake to get a better view of the angle the push rods are at, I haven't seen this before. Of course, I have only dealt with modified stock stuff until now.
Any other ideas, I appreciate the help so far.
