I'm rewiring my car and considering mounting the coil in the car to clean things up. This would mean using one of the those MSD firewall feed-thru things to pass the spark from coil to distributor. Any problem with doing this? Does the extra coil wire and extra pair of connection points make a difference? I'm just tryin to make things as clean as possible.

Here's the feed-thru I'm talking about:
Firewall Feed-Thru (http://www.msdignition.com/coil_acc_3.htm)

If it matters, my ignition is the Holley Annihilator Strip System (#800-300) and the coil is the LaserShot Pro (#820-100).

Thanks!

couldnt you just drill a hole, feed the coil wire thru and use a rubber grommet?

We've used them in our road racer for a long time with no problems.

i just drilled a hole in the firewall behind the coil so u can't see the wire and ran it to my coil mounted under my dash

I did this setup on my prostreet nova, mounted the coil high up on the pass side footrest area,so it wouldn't get kicked .I never had any problems with this setup.
