I called Oreilleys and the salesman said I need to bring in my old one so they could MATCH IT UP with a picture in a book! :confused: Anyone got a part # for a horn relay for a 71 Chevelle?

Robert, the part # for your relay here at CarQuest is HR140. That is a Standard Ignition part #. Any decent store should be able to interchange if they don't have that brand. Good luck.

You may want to take another look at your old relay before trashing it or spending time tracking down an expensive and impossible to find replacement. I pulled the cover off mine and the problem was just a broken wire where the coil attached to the connector. Five minutes work and a dab of solder made it good as new. Even if you had to rewind the coil it would be worth the trouble, considering how hard they are to find.

I have a GM parts book that states the relay is for 66-71 cars (all Chev types) and has a part number of 1115889. As of 1983 the list price was $12.95...............Try GM parts direct?
Also try looking it up on various parts stores sites. If they show that it is no longer stocked, then off to eBay.

The new GM # for the relay is 12339248 and is still somewhat available. Retail price on it's now $82 so it's a little pricey now.
