You know it's tough sometimes. You try "performance parts" that either dont work well with certain things or all together there on a tired engine. I had an Accel HEI, it worked ok, alot better than the bone stocker distributor I had before.

I put in a new aluminum firewall and some "insulator" behind it so I have a little less room. Hard to judge right now but to be safe I was thinking about getting a smaller distributor, I saw alot of MSD's that had small caps, I like the look of those. Not sure if they make them in HEI or if I'll even go HEI. Just looking for some reccomendations for this Big block build.

Phil, I use a junkyard HEI and DUI (performance disributors) coil and module. I just set up my curve using a dial back light. I have never had a problem with this setup, and it has performed flawlessly over the years.

I think I have maybe $120 total in the setup.

Not sure what you guys think about Mallory Distributors and products but check out 8548201C its an HEI w/ coil I think alot of the MSD and Mallory's are smaller than the ACCEL HEI's??? The one I had was pretty bulky. But this Mallory looks cool and the price is right.
