Thanks again to everyone who has provided information regarding my previous Transmission Controlled Spark System questions. After learning more about this system i am now wondering if most people who have retained the T.C.S. have also retained the idle stop solenoid. Did all 70 SS 396ci 350hp cars come equiped with this? Is this a necessary part of the T.C.S. or can the T.C.S. be run without the idle stop solenoid. Is it recommended? The more i learn about this system the more complicated it appears, now i see why most people have removed it. Thanks again, any assistance is appreciated.

Idle stop solenoid came on cars with A/C. In order to maintain a constant idle speed this solenoid would bump up the idle a tad when the A/C compressor clutch was engaged. Does not hvae anything to do with TCS and yes TCS can work just fine without it.
