got to the rhoads lifters on my list of things to complete my daily driver and weekend warrior.......i just got them installed yesterday and so far i'm very pleased with the improved idle and vacuum readings......my manifold vacuum at 1,000 rpms went from 10.0-10.5" of hg to a more steady 12" of hg at 1,000 rpms.........and the drop from idle to in gear was reduced 100 rpms from 350 rpms to 250 rpm drop. and the car does idle alittle smoother but i really didnt loose to much of the lumpy lump of idle......you still know there is a cam there.....i had to retard the intial timming from 22 degrees to 18 degrees since it was making the car start alittle harder but i retained my 36 degrees total timming by opening my slot in the hei unit......

the car feels better when driving around town it doesnt seem to shake near as much when sitting at a red light.......as far as performance goes not sure by the seat of the pants feel it seems to have alittle more low end grunt but i think they are on the edge of giving my full effect of the cam back by because of the 2800 stall........

i think i was expecting alittle bigger difference out of them idle ...mind you not performance wise ......but by idle and vacuum reading and such........but the little change they did make sure is better then what i had before......and as far as the noise goes..inside my car i really cant hear them.....i have to turn the radio off and listen for the ticking clatter noise they make.......but once you open the hood you can hear two sounds...the ticking from the roller tips and the lifters.......its not a bad sound just different...sounds like my solid roller cam valve train in the race car......

now its time to go to the track and see what difference all this fine tunning did .......

May I suggest that you try idling her down to say, 850 rpm b/c I bet your new bleed-down lifters will help even more, imho.. If it will go that low??

Please come back and tell us what happens if you do play around with your idle rpm's some more..

oh that was just a reference check for vacuum reading the car idles at 600 rpms with about 8 or so inches compared to 5.5 and it it idles at 850 in park........ it was idling down to 350 to 450 rpms without stalling.......but thats not a practical idle of course but it sounds solid at 600 in gear........
