Since I have been out of the original restoration game for a while. I need a little advise on current value of a 12 bolt. This is a original 67 Chevelle unit we removed from a original 396 / 325 car, CX1207B code, K226 date, which makes it a 3.07 open rear. This rear now has a all new, 500 mile since rebuilt 3.73, 33 spline (W/C Clips so it still looks stock externally), new 33 spline Eaton posi, 1310 yoke fits stock driveshaft, ETC.
We put a 754HP / 572CI motor and a 9" in the car to handle the power, so what's this one worth? It's going on e bay, just need a realistic reserve.

Place the reserve at 1k. 64-67 with the 67 being at the highest premium d/t the lack of need for the bracket to hold the springs in place. You'll likely get 1500+ with a posi installed, although the axles might hurt you a bit.

Just to clarify a bit, CX identifies the 3.07 w/Positraction and 1207 identifies the date of Dec 07 and B as being built in Buffalo for the assembly of the rear end, K226 is the casting date of the center section as November 22, 1966.
I agree though that being a 67 rear end it might be worth more than a 64-66 variety buy probably more to a 67 owner. Whether it's worth $1K to $1500 or not is in the eyes of a buyer. Honestly I wouldn't pay that much unless I was restoring a 67 and wanted a date coded correct rear end. For someone just wanting a 67 rear end the 3.07 gear ratio would be an obstacle IMO. But there's people out there willing to spend big bucks for stuff that's still available at GM dealers.
I think the c-clip eliminators may affect value as a lot of people don't like them for street cars. You might want to add "drag parts" to the title so those type of people are looking. I'll be surprised if it goes very far past $1k.

Hey Dale, the only information I have is the following link which shows it as a open rear. If this is not correct I need to know.
http://www.chevelles.com/years/67/67rearcodes.htm
JWA, it is a c clip axle, not eliminated, so I will probably say "upgraded axles externally appear stock"
I sell a bunch of Moser 12 bolts. I guess I was trying to figure out is weather a correct dated original houseing with new guts was worth the same money as a new Moser Housing with new guts. While the Moser has the new stronger design housing, the original has the dates and codes.
My eyes must be going :D
I don't think the codes would be enough to get the rear priced near a Moser rear. While date code might work for some one, ratio code would not be very sought after. IMO the value in that rear will be the internals and it might make $1200. At that price I would expect it be complete with drum brakes. Good Luck

CX is an open rear but you've got a Posi unit with it; what I meant to convey is K226 is the casting date and 1207 is the assembly date where you initially said K226 is the date, just clarifying which date it is. ;)

OK Dale, just wanted to be sure I had the information right.

Sometimes I get a little ahead of myself trying to not be so verbose. :D
