I'm starting to restore my 69SS I've owned since 1974, will probably need a ground-up.My problem is I've found cracks behind the A-arms on both sides. The guy I bought it from wrecked it in 1970, should I fix it or start with a new frame? and what should I look for when buying another frame?

Just fix it. Do a good job and go foward.

Can you post any pics of how bad the cracks are?

Not uncommon. Also check and finish welding the front A-arm lower rear mount. If the frame isn't all twisted up and just cracked I'd go forward too.

I had the same problem with mine. Frame was in otherwise good condition so I stop drilled the crack and welded a patch over the area, almost unnoticable and lasted for the rest of the time I owned the car, and is still good to this day. Just a thought
Hey Jay I bet someone in the club knows of a good welder around here.
