I'm looking into getting some new shocks for the rear of my chevelle. the summit 3 way adjustables just aren't cutting it. I was interetsted to see if anyone has run the rancho 9000 shock in the rear with any success, and if they are well suited for a drag application (car only runs mid 12s but trying to get the 60' down to 1.72-1.6x)
and also what part number did you use?
thanks

I believe one of the car mags did a Nova drag car with the "cheap" goal in mind.
I remember them using the Rancho RS9000 9-way adjustables on that car.
I have them on my lifted 4x4 K5 Blazer, but I wouldn't have any idea what part number to use with a Chevelle (or any other GM A-Body).
Hope that helps alittle.

I think the model number for the 9 way adjustable is RS9000X.
I think they might be a good somewhat cheaper adjustable shock for drag racing.
After all, that's what they sell over at Calvert racing
You know, makers of the Caltrac bars.

what i did was call rancho with the extended and compressed length measurements, along with the type of ends needed, and they supplied a part #.

well to stray off topic, has anyone used these for racing, and how did they perform for you?

We use them on our 64 Nova road racer. I went to the Rancho website and chose shocks by length and mounting style to fit our car. I had to modify my front lower mounts to get them to fit.
