I have a LS-2 and its a great package. Lots of stuff on the market now but it is expensive to play using the LS series compared to the early Gen motors. If your car is in decent shape and you have all the original stuff, I think I'd look long and hard at keeping it a 283. Dependable and decent mileage, what more could you ask for. Anyone can put anything in there, they're only original once.

build what you want and keep that 283 stored away nice and safe.

would the tpi system work on the 283?
its the same block as the 350 right?

I have a 283 in mine...some internal work done to it and I love it. I prefer the originality though.
283 has my vote

id say just get a get1 350 or something of that nature, more powerful, everything bolts up and you can keep the 283 stashed away

The real question is how much money do you want to spend? ;)

well i have the 283 in it now.
and i have a 350 tpi in my shed in the 53 chevy that i can use.
and also a 454 SS engine in the back also..
living in so cal with gas prices the 454 wouldnt do very well haha,
my car is a daily driver everywhere.

question::: if i put the 350 tpi in it, it has no wires or hoses with it.
would the hoses and everything fit from the 283?
or am i wrong that the 350 and 283 are the same block?
