Hi all, wondering if there are opinions on this car offered by Today's Auto in the classifieds. It is a butternut yellow 69 ss. Looks to be a very nice car, in the ad and also on their website. Anyone know of or had any dealings with this dealer? Not meant to be a bashing question, just interested in their quality of cars before I make a long drive to see it. Anyone seen this particular car or someone close enough to go see it and give me an idea of the condition of the car. Thanks for any help and thanks Team Chevelle.

The owner is Lee Smith. I have seen a couple of his cars and he likes quality cars. He seemed like a nice guy to talk with and knowledgeable.

The car really looks nice in the pics. I talked to Lee a few days ago to get some more pics of engine stamps and the like, have not gotten those yet. One of my concerns is that the car looks to be restored to the nine's but the front "Chevelle by Chevrolet" emblem on the drivers right corner of the front is not correct, it is offset and they clearly show a pic of this. I did not notice this until after I talked to him. Makes me wonder what happened and if this is not correct, what else might not be. Not to picky, but for $42k, I would think everything should work and be correct. Any opinions??

Pretty car but it better be for the asking price:

Here is another link to more pics of this car. Notice the pic of the emblem. Why would someone put something so obivious on wrong when the rest of the car looks factory correct? Should/would this concern others or am I just being too picky?

If it bothers you now, wait until you've owned it for 6 months.

If your like me, any flaw is all you'll see and it will drive you insane.

I would think that pretty fixable though by slotting the mounting holes a little.

I wouldn't rule it out for that. Plenty of bigger things to scrutinize before you get there.

Looked at pics and have a few questions. Which car are you looking at? The top one with the correct shade of yellow and no license plates or the bottom one with torque thrust wheels,Va. license plates and richer yellow paint.

Nice car as represented in pics.

For me it is a little bit pricy at $42000 for a 69,auto, non A/C, yellow, vinyl top car. I would think it would have to be a car , with this color, that represents everything you are looking for and to keep for an extended time. It should certainly have to be a no questions asked car. If this car is everything you want the price is secondary and opinions such as mine are mute.

You have some good people such as Tim offering help but none of us has to sign the check.

Good Luck.
