I put a newer style alternator on my car and now the kill switch does not kill the engine. The fuel pump stops but thats not good enough for tech. Can someone link me to some wiring help?

I can't remember the letter codes right off. It came off an 80 Camaro replacing the ext. voltage reg. 70 model. People who have switched to a 1 wire sometimes have the same problem.

Run the alt wire directly to the + post on the battery side of the disconect switch. Everything else on the load side of the switch. I have a 100 amp circuit breaker between the bat and the alt so if something happens and that wire grounds the breaker will trip.

You might also check out if you need a diode.

I have heard that depending on how its wired, voltage can leak back through and keep the engine from shutting off (usually when the "gen" warning light is not used / bypassed).

The gen light is bypassed and I now remember hearing that it could cause a problem.
