Just a quick question for the transmission pros here. Will it hurt the transmission any by not having the passing gear linkage not hooked up to the transmission. Other than not having passing gear when the gas pedal is pushed so far down.

Depends on type of transmission and weight of car. Its not good on any of them and its DEATH on 700R4. There's really no reason not to hook it up and properly adjust.

I forgot to mention untill I read your reply this is on a powerglide transmission behind a 283 in a 67 chevelle. For whatever reason it was not on when I bought the car so I will have to track down the parts. Do you know if anyone sells a aftermarket kit to put it back into operation. Thanks
