I'm installing a new cam and lifters in a small block. The cam is pretty mild with .444 lift and 204/214 duration @ 050. The motor also has stock valve springs. Should I run stock rockers during cam breakin or can I run a set of 1.6 roller tipped rockers on breakin?

Honestly, with a mild cam there is really no reason to run roller tip rockers.. Once you get above the .500-.550 mark you should think about rollers..

Of corse, just my opinion....

Break in the cam with the 1.5/1 rockers. The 1.6/1 will place more load on your new cam lobes.

Once you install the 1.6 rockers your duration won't change much, but your lift will increase to .480 so just make sure your springs will take the increase in lift.
