I was talking with an "old school" performance guy and he said that he would set the gap at 38. It was his opinion that the shorter the gap the less the coil had to "strain" and thus put out a more powerful spark. I've read here recently that a larger gap "forced" the coil to put out more spark to jump the bigger gap.... So which is it? Anybody got some "scientific" proof or the like?

70BB I have the MSD Pro Billet Distributor with the 6AL box and blaster 2 coil on my 468. Im using Ac Delco R43TS, After we did the 9 dyno runs, we pulled the plugs and they were perfect. I gapped mine at .045 and im definetly sticking with it.

This is one of those topics where everyone and there mom has an opinion tongue.gif The guys that own the local dyno shop said .035"-.045" doesnt make a difference on the dyno. So mine as well take it easy on your igntion system and run the .035" gap. Just my two cents. Im sure a car like John Forces is a tad pickier but for your typical I dunno 9 second and slower car I think it doesnt matter to much.
