My new 496 temp gets to about 210 and holds .Needless to say I gotta get the temp down.I run a stock style 4 row radiator, fan, shroud, water pump and 160 t-stat(all new).Timing is at 38 total. It cranks and runs fine.Would an aluminum radiator and electric fan get me to about 180?

I went from a stock 3 row a/c radiator to an AFCO 2 row(much bigger cores) aluminum radiator,no difference in cooling, its lighter and dissipates heat much quicker while in the lanes waiting.
cost:165.00

I would say yes,but before you spend $500+ on a rad,try a 20.00 bottle of Water Wetter, and see if that helps any smile.gif

Try a 180 t-stat. Should help some. A different pitch fan or an extra bladed fan will help too

try putting in a hi performance thermostat. It will let more coolant through. I have a prc radiator from streetrodstuff and it was under 300 bucks or right at it. It works great with the aluminum shroud and electric fan.

What kind of fan do you have? A non thermal 7 blade clutch fan is what you want..I use one in all my rides and they never get hotter than 190* on 95* day in traffic..my 72 442 convertible w/a 455 and AC wouldn't overheat or even get hot with the AC running in stop/go traffic.
