I'm thinking about We all try to set a date to head down to PR for a TNT. We could have a little get together, bring some tool's and Misc. go fast parts, hopefully some of our more knowledgable guy's will show. And We can do some jetting/timing/curving, see what kinda gains we can get. I'll bring all of my stuff, jets, timing light, and misc. tools, hopefully We'll have enough people to have someone in the pit at all time's to look after Our stuff.

What Ya'll think?

Here's a link to PR. raceway (http://www.pacificraceways.com/)

I'm in...

Just pick a night far enough out so I can request the day off work (or to leave early)...

I still need to replace my u-joints, and get a drive shaft loop- not even mentioning carb tuning or dialing in- but I should be able to wrap up the easy stuff in the next few weeks.

This is the driveshaft safty loop i'm looking at, for anyone who is interested:

Ben,

Interesting driveshaft loop pic!
Seems no ground interference problems....my ride is low-slung...I've always seen the other type, seems they'd drag....

FRYNTYR and other more drag-oriented guys like LOADER1, whatcha think?

The rest of June is out for me but July is looking promising. My Bremerton trip Saturday, between work and prep for vacation, is a little difficult but I need to get the Nova out and see if I can diagnose the laying down problem I've had in the 1/4. I am almost finished changing the mechanical pump set-up over to a Holley electric Blue pump set-up to see if it's fuel. Added a fuel gage at my windshield to watch pressure as well. My latest gut feeling is it is fuel. If it's fixed, hopefully I can lay down a 10.30 something, or better, time Saturday.

I'm more thinking July Myself. That'll give some time to prepare for the adventure.

I need to get a loop, and a couple small item's, if I'm going to run my Drag Radials.

I might be in if there's not too much turbulance here from all the bosses leaving. I'd have to borrow a trailer again but that should be no problem. This also assumes I don't break anything this weekend, I think Loader1 is becoming a bad influence on me.:D

How about Friday, July 14th. Looks like an Open Test N Tune Night.

Gives everybody a month and a half to get their stuff together :-)

I might see if i can sneak out to monroe and do a couple 1/8th mile runs to prepare... heh heh heh...

By JUL, ROTC Camp will be at full pace. I may have a day off by then. I may even have a clue by then! Would like to have my stuff all ready by then to spank BRETT, maybe work over 66 Buick Special Greg.....
In a little test jaunt this AM, I was almost shocked by the NUTZ my little 350 displayed in the midrange. I think the 3.42s and this Mouse are very happy. Fear not you current BBC guys, we're only realistically talking 15s here.
I figure I'll get some experience with my Elky and the SBC then move on up to BBC country in the fall and go lookin' fer AWESOM.

Brett,

Gotta figure out that little issue with RatVette. Still thinking ign. Over the years I've seen some very strange problems develop....especially in the few FORDs I've had (had a big 91 White Bronco w/ 5.8 until 2 years ago, was given an 89 Crown Vic in 98 that wifey gave away in early 2004). What I have in my ride this time is very strange. We'll see what I turn up.

Dunno if you're up to a ride in RatVette young smart-ash. :p Respect is due to your elders! I can't have ya gettin scared an pissin yourself on my newish interior! The noise with t-tops off, back window out, pipes mm's from your rump, might scare the she-ot outa you! Right around 6000 rpms the mufflers sound like they're gonna shoot off!!!! Meanwhile, when I catch you hanging on, I'll be like this :D

And while we're slinging friendly insults, I'm kinda dubious about the merits of your 350 :boring: Good thing for you that you had the sense to go TKO and have 3.73s.....

At first I thought you guys were nutz talking about going to PIR. I mean, we'd pass Pacific Raceways and Bremerton to get to Portland. I used to make that trip 3 times a year when I raced SCCA and ICSCC events many years ago...

Then I figured out you must be talking about Pacific. :)

I figured it out pretty quick, went to the link.
PR Pacific Raceways or SIR Seattle intl Raceways. PIR is Portland Intl Raceway.

Just read my Hotmail.....missed an earlier invitation to go to the Godfathers in Spanaway (just So of Tacoma, SE of Lakewood and the I-5/I-512 McDonalds) .Wed night hang-out. By the time I get there, all will probably be quiet. Told my guy out that way to CALL me b4 I leave work....

Does this mean you have a decent mechanical pump laying around? I have a Holley Red and it's too noisy so I'll probably pull it.

I do have a (or a few) nice mechanical pump. Remember though, the welfare nova is only powered by a lowly 350  so that pump won't work. Do have a couple of bbc HP mechanical pumps laying around, new or used.

Hey everybody,
Yeah, Dave that sounds good. I know you tried to do something like this last year before the ACES event, and I wish I could have gotten in on it. The mid July date sounds good to me. I'd like to see your car now that you're driving it. I've admired the work that you've done on it YOURSELF!

Mark, I'm thinking that you'll be thinking I'm a good influence when you need to go faster. I have a few ideas that don't include a quadra-jet.:D Givin' ya a bad time and love your car the way it is! But, you know 1 trip to the track can snowball.

Ben, the loop that you show is the one that I had been using with the M20. For 4 speed guys,.... it will not just bolt in. It needs to be shortened to pass tech, which is not a bad thing because it gets more rigid. Also, even shortening mine, when making a pass, the inherent violence would cause it to rap the floorboard. The first time caused me to immediately lift and fill my drawers, not neccessarily in that order. My field expediency caused me to wrap a rubber bungee cord around it w/zip ties to hold it in place. It actually took up the space between the floor and the loop and I never heard it again. I can't address AT applications but, I'm sure that it's just a fitment thing. Some people have made comments about the structural integrity of these loops but what's a guy who hasn't cut his car to do? And the floor mount thing is a total joke, they wouldn't even fit in most of our cars. And if your driveline breaks up there,....you got problems anyway, baby! Just drive.

Brett, if you're bored and want to feel baby BBC power, I always go to the back 40 to adjust my tire pressure, looking at the patch for consistency across the tread. My grandson likes that part the best!

Anyway, count me in for something at PR, as long as it's not the Wednesday deal.

See you all at Bremerton Saturday I hope!

Point #1

Thank's for the compliments,up close she look's alittle rough till the paint job. I just wanted to get all the mechanical issue's done, before I put all the effort into sanding. She's ugly, but she handle's pretty good, and she's fairly fast.

I was really trying to set something up this year, but the weekend of the ACES show, is booked with the Bucky's something or the other.:boring:

I've got my kitchen pass request in already.:)
I've got some things to do before then, will not bother you with the details.

Will the TRNSFRYR be up and running? Will it be Round 2 of FLINK vs LOADER1 by then?

Some lack of confidence in the 350 of someone lately concerning someone else's 350-powered ride. Another party with a 454HO worried that the Elky with no engine but loud pipes might get past them unless traction issues are solved. Re this, maybe in the 1/8 mile. If you don't simply SPANK my Elky in the qtr mile, I win! Hmmmm, maybe I might be able to drive around a certain silver car....
All in good fun, I wish all the best. I'm shooting for a 15-flat. If I go that or faster with the MouseMeeno, I've done pretty good. If I go 14.5 we'll have to consume some beverages.

It will be round #1 George. I'm seriously considering a NEW "glove". The old reliable is quite saturated with endless amounts of carcinogens. My hand was black for 2 days after last outing, not to mention, kept having to wipe down my old school white Hurst T handle. I'll have to let old reliable ride on the passenger seat to keep the bad Flink demons away, til the new one developes a Force of it's own.

I really can't wait to run on that track!

Whatcha think:
I guess 300 horse in the 350, 2.02/1.60 in very modified 58 cc 305 4v heads, 9.75:1 territory, Perf Intake, 600 Holley, cam sounds like a 327/350 horse unit but really no idea what's in there...HEI, headers, 2.5" FM pipes and MagnaFlow mufflers....I've got about 1800-1900rpm true stall, 3.42 w/fresh posi. GOTAGO will tell ya the trans used to shift crisply...now after the gear swap, it shifts FIRMLY. I'll get the nose up a bit to level, get the wt back over the rear...also will set the rear down... wondering if any one else noticed your car sits level....
Dunno if I'll actually NEED stick/gooey tires after all this.

George,...disregard the kid, he wants to use his stick with no protection.:D

Your combo and ideas for preparation sound fine. Remember, this is a TNT night. Get set up the way you think you would like to be, and come test your car. You could end up running against anything. I'm sure that we'll all be able to line up against each other in our group whenever we want. It'll be fun. The testosterone level will be HIGH. I know that when I get to the track my kiddie pool swimmers will be Navy Seals!

The main thing is to focus and develope a system where you do everything the same, every run. Will you get your butt kicked at some point? YES. Does it matter? NO. Learn what you can at this event so that when we all go for the car club challenge, you will know your cars numbers.

Power=money You can spend a ton of it. Run what you can and run consistent. Don't spend a lot of time on making more power for your MEENO, you'll just have to spend more time and money to be able to use it.

Can't remember, have you drag raced at a track before?

Loader1,

I've had medium to hot cars all my life. First car 68 Nova w/427/Th400 and 4.56.
When younger and dumber, we'd take it to the streets with the arm wave starts like in PINKS. Not been to official timed speed events as an active participant.
I did spend my teens assisting friends at the track and crewed for the neighbor's BB/FC one summer. Longtime bud has a 7.9sec Super Eliminator dragster so familiar with that kinda thing too. I build my own engines, 4-spds, etc.
I'm thoroughly familiar with bracket racing, staging, etc. sportsman type racing.
Thing is, life got in the way or more exactly, I let life get in the way of one of my earliest passions. Fixin to change that.

Re The kid? Some gnat to swat.
