This may be a silly question, big block fuel pumps mount right to the block right? No mounting plate or anything? Just the gasket right? Also I just got my new pushrod in the mail, Do you guys lube it or do anything special before installing it?

Lube both ends for sure. The pump attaches with the gasket and that's all. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I greased my fuel pump pushrod up heavily and that helped it stay up in there until I had the pump on.

Hello Phil,
As you install the fuel pump, make sure the push rod is "way up" inside the block BEFORE you try to locate the fuel pump to the block and start bolting it up.
In order to have the push rod way up inside the engine, you need to have the crank / cam shaft rotated so the fuel pump eccentric on the cam has the small side of the lobe facing the push rod......NOT the big side of the lobe which would be pushing the push rod out towards the fuel pump (this is the lobe that actually pumps the push rod which pumps the fuel pump when the engine is running).
If you do not have the push rod "way up" in the engine and you attempt to bolt the fuel pump to the block, you just might be crushing the fuel pump against the push rod............and bend the rod.
Ask me how I learned this 20 years ago....LOL.
Good luck, Joe

Thanks Joe! I remember doing this with the small block. Now that Im building it on a stand its MUCH easier to manually crank over and find the right spot, it will be alot easier.
