Hello all I am just looking for some ideas for the rear setup for my 69 I have been looking at the edelbrock control arm setup with the adjustable uppers and rectanglular tubular lower but seems to be with poly and i heard poly in the rear creates binding ): so global west has a tubular lower fitted with a del-alum bushing and is said to be better?? any input would be appreciated....

What would you like to do with your '69 and what kind of power level?

Between the factory rubber, the aftermarket polyurethane/polygraphite and del-alum the biggest issue for most Chevelles is NOT the bushing material itself - the biggest issue for most is just plain worn out bushings (your car is ~ 35 years old!).

For general street and performance use I'm not sure the regular factory rubber bushings can be beat. They drive smoother and quieter than anything else (my opinion).

If your lower control arms are not boxed now would be a good time to take care of that. At the same time if you do not have a rear sway bar this is the time to upgrade. *Tip* when installing the rear sway bar do not use the standard 3/8" shank bolts - get out a fine rat-tail file and slightly enlarge the control arm bolt holes to accomodate larger bolts like 7/16" shank (my memory on the actual bolt sizes may be off, but you get the idea). In my opinion this makes the sway bar more responsive on launch.

I've heard great things about Hotchkiss!! Talk to crowe@650dialup.com I guess he sells the whole Hotchkiss setup for around $550. Good Luck!!
