The B platform, or B-body, was General Motors (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Motors_Corporation)' full-size (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Full-size_car) rear-wheel drive (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rear-wheel_drive) automobile platform (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automobile_platform). It was closely related to the Cadillac (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cadillac) D-body (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GM_D_platform) and was used for coupés (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coup%C3%A9), sedans (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sedan), and station wagons (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Station_wagon).
B-body production began in 1962 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1962), and had 4 major restyles in 1965 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1965), 1971 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1971), 1977 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1977), and 1991 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1991). The platform was downsized in length by approximately 10 inches in 1977 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1977). The last B-cars rolled off the line in 1996 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1996), leaving only arch-rival Ford (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Motor_Company) producing large rear wheel drive sedans. Today, however, the situation looks to reverse, with Ford switching to front wheel drive for most cars and GM reintroducing rear wheel drive with their new Sigma platform (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GM_Sigma_platform). Chrysler (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrysler_Corporation) has also reintroduced rear wheel drive with their new LX platform (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrysler_LX_platform).
The B-body was the last platform design to have the gasoline (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gasoline) tank filler port behind the license plate (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/License_plate).
Most B-body cars were replaced by H-bodies (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GM_H_platform).
Sedans built on the B platform include:

Chrysler B platform
Chrysler (http://www.answers.com/topic/chrysler-301)'s B platform was the basis for rear-wheel drive (http://www.answers.com/topic/rear-wheel-drive) cars from 1962 through 1979. All of the B-body cars in a given model year for either make were built upon the same chassis (http://www.answers.com/topic/chassis). However, the outward design differed between makes.
The Plymouth B-body series ultimately comprised four cars with nearly identical outward appearances (differing only in trim package, drive train and accessories). These were the Belvedere (http://www.answers.com/topic/plymouth-belvedere), Satellite (http://www.answers.com/topic/plymouth-satellite), GTX (http://www.answers.com/topic/plymouth-gtx) and Roadrunner (http://www.answers.com/topic/plymouth-road-runner). The Superbird (http://www.answers.com/topic/plymouth-superbird) was a Roadrunner with an extended nose and a high-mounted rear wing. It was the only Plymouth B-body that looked essentially different from the others.
There was more diversity in the outward appearance of the Dodge B-body series. The Dodge models based on the B-body were the Coronet (http://www.answers.com/topic/dodge-coronet), Super Bee (http://www.answers.com/topic/dodge-super-bee) and the Charger (http://www.answers.com/topic/dodge-charger-b-body). The Charger Daytona (http://www.answers.com/topic/dodge-charger-daytona) was a Charger with an extended nose and high-mounted rear wing.

I typed in b body on google, and there are several articles that explain it really good, like years of dodge darts are a and b body depending on the year, anyway hope this answers some of your questions.

Abe, remember. "The only dumb or stupid question is one not asked!" How else do we learn if not by asking about things we don't know!

What I need is a longer steering arm for my 64 chevelle A body. I was told that a B body was longer and will match up. What would be the most common or popular B body?
