: 70 LS5 fuel line.
mn65bis May 29th, 07, 11:11 AM Some doofis installed a copper line from the fuel pump to the carb. Did the car have a in line steel filter like the 69 SS I had years ago? Does anyone have a picture of there motor?

70SS May 29th, 07, 1:20 PM For a 70 I believe the only filter was in the carb.
Robinls5 May 29th, 07, 1:20 PM The correct carb. for an LS5 should be a 7040205 ( 4-Speed)
7040204 ( Auto)
The correct fuel line is a pre bent line from the pump to the carb. and the correct fuel filter is in the carb. New lines are avaible in stainless or stock O.E.M. steel. It is located behind the big nut where the fuel line attaches. To change the filter remove the fuel line from carb. Then remove the big nut, The filter is housed in the Carb. Hope this may help.

mn65bis May 29th, 07, 1:51 PM Thanks guys,
I have a flaring tool and some line, I'll check the filter while I'm in there. I checked the carb number and it is the right one. Thanks,
Dave
Chevy 70 SS vert May 29th, 07, 10:49 PM I got my factory looking carb fuel line at "Muscle Factory" in Anihiem , CA. They are not on the web you must call and get a catalog.

It even fit pretty good. They have a wide seletion (from what I remember) of those factory lines-depending on what engine you have. The only filter I have is in the Quadra jet (paper). Hard line runs from pump to carb filter (carb).
mn65bis May 30th, 07, 12:15 PM Your pic is exactally what I needed. Thanks I have a tubing bender and line and a flareing tool. I'll try to make one if I cant make it perfect I'll round up a new one.

Sorry, if that's your picture, I don't think I labeled them all that well, let me know.

Not a problem. If the picture is of help to a fellow enthusiast then mission accomplished as that is what this board is all about. By the way, I've since learned how the cowl induction seal should appear and updated this picture on webshots a year ago or so. Looks like someone sat on it in this picture!
mn65bis Jun 1st, 07, 2:08 AM I had a hard time bending the line even with a line bender. It kept kinking on me, the radius of the bender is too tight. I may need to buy a factory one I guess. It was worth a try.
Thanks again.
