Took the car out for a drive a little while ago breaking in a new clutch. On the way home the transmission started acting funny. Hard to get in gear synchros grinding and everything. Then i worked it into gear and everything was fine for a couple miles. Then at the house I put it in reverse and took off and it kind of seems like it's binding up a little bit and there's a lot of grinding and it's real difficult to get in reverse and 1st. It's also difficult to shift into downshift to second, but upshifting there is never a problem.

hopefully just your shift linkage - start with the cheap and easy stuff. Search for posts on how to check and adjust them properly.

Yep, now after the shakedown drive, you very probably need to adjust the clutch. You need to adjust it so that you have full release when the pedal is depressed.
