Well the body is back on and the motor is mostly done and ready to drop in. Started to rethink how hard will i drive my weekend toy and do i need to upgrade to a better shield. Dont plan on racing other than finding out what it can do,or for a little fun. Currently has a new GM stock flywheel for 11 inch clutch and yet to be bought centerforce D/F.
Rest of my combo is
454 030 over
10.7-1
100cc 063 reworked w/2.19
UD 288/296F7
M-21 4speed
3.31 Posi {might go 3.73)
275/60/15 BFG in rear
I would rather put the extra cash toward fuel and ignition system.
For a weekend fun toy what do you all think?

There's nothing wrong with a stock GM bellhousing,as long as you don't get carried away at the track..

Thanks Robert
Do you think with the M21, that 3.73 would be a better choice

Looking at your combination; BBC, high compression, good cam and stick shift - I would heartily recommend a SFI approved bellhousing such as Lakewood, McLeod, etc. (Especially with the GM flywheel.) The couple hundred bucks expenditure is cheap insurance for your safety as well as passengers and anyone outside the vehicle.

Bob, if anything upgrade to a steel flywheel instead of the cast stocker. That's way more insurance than a bellhousing. My plan anyway, when I lift the motor for an oil pan redo.

Thanks for the replys
Gene, that is what I am thinking also. Talked to machine shop about the change due to the balance issue of varying weight placement. They will spin both and adjust if needed, so I will go with a better flwheel.
Reviewing past post it sounds like the Lakewood can be a pain, but I see alot of guys run them.
