I have an opportunity to buy a supercharger from a Detroit 8V92 motor, are these usable on our chevy motors, or do they have to be from an inline motor and not a "V" ? Thanks!

Adam,

I strongly recommend you pass on that thing. It'll cost so much and eat so much time getting it ready to use on a car it's not worth it. These are available at swap meets all the time, but I've never known anybody who actually started out with the real thing diesel unit and got it running on a car. Does the phrase "money pit" mean anything to you?

Tom

Well, I kinda figured. Do you know what the main differences are between that type of blower and the typical 8-71?

Thanks!

Don't bother. It will cost you virtually as much as buying new. They modify almost everything. I have a 6-71 in similar configuration, and would not consider a rebuild unless I got a super deal on the rebuild. Call BDS, or other rebuilders for an estimate of what a core is worth. It is less than you think.
