I have put about 1000 miles on the engine, now I'm chompin to see what it will do in the 1/4
It makes my knees shake just thinking about it, but I'm looking forward to it.

I would be really greatful for your opinions regarding what you think it's capable of.

Here are the specs:
-69 Chevelle SS
-454 CI LS6 Short Block
-10:1 CR Forged LS6 Pistons
-Isky 620 Solid Roller 248/248 @.050.620/.620lift
-Performer RPM Intake
-Performer RPM Rectangle Port Heads
-Holley 950 HP
-MSD 6AL
-Mallory Performance Coil
-2" Hooker Super Comps 3.5 collector, 3" with
H-pipe thru 40 series Flowmasters and 3"tails
-Richmond 5 speed
-Richmond 308 Posi
-150 shot NOS (which I have yet to spray)
-Upper control arms fitted w/Anti-hop system

What does your experience tell you it's capable of with and without the NOS.

Thanks Much, Gaz graemlins/beers.gif

<got a weight? might help these guys out>

I haven't had a chance to put it on a scale yet.
It is basically as a stock 69 SS with F41 suspension but the Tranny is now a Richmond 5 speed which is lighter and the aluminum heads whish are also lighter.

Mid-low 12's with traction problems

Ought to be in the 12's for sure...and a full second quicker with a 150 shot, providing that you get traction. How is the nitrous activated? throttle switch or button? Might be interesting banging gears with nitrous.

Not a very good cam choice for that compression ratio. You could have went w/ something alot less radical and made the same power and had it more streetable. I'd still say low 12's for sure. traction will be a problem, escpecailly with the 5 speed and those wheels if your not running a slick.

The NOS is armed with a toggle stitch at the base of the dash and activated with a button on the shifter. It is set up to where I can activate it while staged, but it's not sapposed to spray until 3000 RPM.

The comment about "might be interesting banging gears with the five speed" That is exactely what I am wondering about, I too am curious as hell as to what it's gonna do and how it will act. It will be interesting.

I know getting it to hook will be a major factor,
I will need to find/beg/borrow some different wheels/tires for the rear for sure.

The car is a blast to drive without the NOS, and the reason I have yet to take it to the track is that I'm still getting to know it. I don't want something stupid to happen because of my not fully understanding all of the little quirks the car has while getting after it.

BTW, I was thinking exactely the same kind of 1/4 mile times that you guys suggest.

Cheers to all graemlins/beers.gif Gaz
