: Aarrggghhhhh!!!!
quikss May 26th, 07, 2:35 AM I screwed up my brand new carpet tonight:mad: I was drilling a hole for the console and the bit caught the carpet. I did make an X cut prior to drilling as well, but it still got me. Fortunately most of it will be covered by a passenger side floor mat, but some of it won't. I now have next winters project list started. To be honest I was not happy with the way this molded carpet fit, it just didn't lay down nicely, so the thought was there to replace it, but it would have looked OK until then. I am going to see if I can find a way to somewhat hide it until it gets replaced.

rubadub May 26th, 07, 2:41 AM You need to stay away from your car if you possibly can, I know you want to take it to the show, but you're all stoked up for it, so just set back, maybe have a beer.:)
Rob
Andy69 May 26th, 07, 8:41 AM uh oh I don't think Jeff drinks beer. Maybe he should start :)

circletrack May 26th, 07, 9:23 AM Jeff ~ no one will notice, unless we look under the floormat! :)
You are working mighty hard to get this done, I'm sure it'll all look just fine!

Now that he has told everyone they will surely look :)
Andy69 May 26th, 07, 9:32 AM I know my eyes will be on the floor during the speedway cruise, glued to that glaring defect in his brand new car :)

After I laid down in bed last night, I devised a plan that I should be able to get rid of it until I replace the carpet. I immedietely started thinking "hmm maybe I shouldn't have posted that for the whole world to see:clonk: "
I'm really not as ticked as I would have been if I felt the molded carpet fit as well as it should have. It was going to be replaced either way, now I have a reason to do it much sooner:rolleyes:
Oh well, as they say *@it happens!!!

After driving it 750 miles to your house first, I am certain I will be able to give you a fairly complete list of defects with the car. Andy you should practice rolling your eyes and shaking your head back and forth in a discouraging way so you are ready to ride in the car for the cruise.
June will be two years since I drove it last, snag in the carpet or not, I intend to enjoy this ride.
By the way, would you think somebody is trying to tell me something? I have had this car apart now for two years, my garage door has gone up and down hundreds of times in that two years, my car is now ready to be driven and the damn door breaks and won't go up!?! Sarah asked how I was going to get the car out, and I told her I will drive thru the damn thing if it comes to that.

I'm sure lots of people will take pictures and post them on the net. It'll probably be highlighted on the Chevelle-abration DVD, too.
Tim.

Yes, first thing I am going to do when we get to the BW is have Rob come over with his camera and film it;)
Maybe he could start a new video series, "What not to do while working on your classic car". I could fill an entire DVD series for him with just this car, not to mention the past cars I have had:thumbsup:
Jeff
BB_Mike May 26th, 07, 8:49 PM Did I leave my beer in this thread? Damn thing was only half empy too.
