: new front end for my '67

So I have been lurking around the forum, all the while saving my pennies to start performance modding my 67 SS clone. I've come to several conclusions, but want to sanity check my ideas with some other people (because bouncing ideas off my wife about my Chevelle is trouble:).)

For starters I'm about ready to order the SC & C Street Comp-AFX pkg. I'm pretty sure that is exactly the type of handling mods I want to do. I think the C5 brake solution will work good for someone like me who won't go near the track. I'm trying to narrow down what 17" wheels to get in order to clear the brakes. I know I'll be in in desparate need of new shocks and springs (probably lowering the from another 1"...ish.) I'm thinking while I'm at it to get a Lee steering box (or Jeep) to complete the package.

My biggest question is what else do I need? I already have a power disc front, drum rear setup now, so other than new C5 rotors and calipers, the SC & C kit, springs and shocks, and the steering box...what am I missing (other than the checkbook?) Sounds like a great weekend father-son project right?;)

I just jumped on a similar project for my '67 malibu I have the C5 brake kit from Kore3, New front and rear control arm bushings, boxed rear arms, off set front contol arm shafts, and Eibach springs. I still need to get some shocks and a front sway bar. I wish I could get the SC@C control arm kit but the money ain't there right now.

The worst part of this project has been replacing the control arm bushings and boxing the rear control arms.

Yeah, I'm sure replacing the bushings can be a pain. I guess I didn't do a good thread search prior to my post, because I found the C5 thread talking about the Kore3 kit last night. I guess you are doing both front and back as the same time? Did you buy a new master cylinder? I have a stock cylinder setup for disc front/drum ream now and am wondering if that will work with new lines so I can just do the front C5 swap this summer. Wheels, brakes, and suspension adds up quick $$$.

Is the Kore3 turning out to be exactly what you thought it was going to be?

I am doing front and rear at the same time, not finished yet. I haven't reassembled the components back on the car. I have the brake kits on the spindles and the rear end. I have a 1 1/8 bore master cylinder and disc/disc prop. valve from CPP, after a little research I think I have the wrong M/C. I think I need one with a 1" to 15/16" bore.

The Kore 3 kit is good. I bought my calipers off of ebay and my hardware and those things that hold calipers at my local Chevrolet dealership. The worst part of the install of the brake kit was cutting and reflaring the brake lines and having the axles and hubs machined. For the most part it is an easy install.
