I can't find a answer to this question.
Is there a difference between an automatic and 4 speed transmission crossmember on a 1966 chevelle?
When I install my tranny crossmember, the tail housing on my 4sp tranny sits too high (towards the floor boards). So much so that the universals are rubbing the floor when I insert the driveshaft.
I know my body mounts need to be replaced (a little sagging), but maybe someone put in the wrong cross member at some point in the past. When I bought the car it was an automatic and I converted it to a 4sp. using the same crossmember.
Any help?
