Andy69 May 24th, 07, 10:33 AM We use a Trimble DSM212H DGPS reciever with Hypack Max navigation software running on a WIndows XP laptop.
Of course, it's mighty awkward for use in a car, given that it's marine survey grade equipment :)
Sure is fun to play with, though
dreis454 May 24th, 07, 10:53 AM I've heard good things about Garmin
John_Muha May 24th, 07, 11:28 AM I still use Streets & Trips into a laptop. Might want to compare prices with these guys.

I've never used one, but I came across this "deal" from another site.
RedSS454 May 24th, 07, 4:21 PM I don't have one of the portable units, but I have one of the in-dash flip screen ones. Best money I have ever spent. Good to with-in six inches i believe, and hs the ability to look up resteraunts and phone numbers. I don't know how I ever got along without it.
But the point I was getting too: We went on a trip to Pennsylvania awhile back before I got my set-up. He had a Magellan (sp?) unit. He plugged in our destination while in Pa, and we began driving. We went to get on the freeway, just like Magellan told us too. Problem was that the navi told us to get on the Exit Ramp .
Just my experience with them...
