Hey Guys, I need some cam suggestions. I have a 454 with a stock bore 10:1 comp, Old edelbrock twisted intake with a 750 holley. It’s in a 66 malibu with a 4 speed and 4.11 gears in the rear. Here is what I had for a cam until it died. Comp cam .595lift 248 dur. Solid lift cam. Now should I stay with that or I was looking into a howards cam With 250/256 dur and .595/.609 lift also a solid lift cam. The car is going to be a street strip car. I’m looking for something with a killer idle and that will pull hard till it hits the moon. Also looking to stick with a solid lift cam. What are your suggestions?

In a recent post some said UDHarold refered to this one as the classic big block solid cam.

Do you guys think a 14 pounds of tourqe is a lot to loose at 2500rpm?

No, you have a 4 speed and 4.11's so you probably wouldn't even notice. Plus you have a BB, so even with a 14 lb-ft loss you'll still have plenty of torque.
