I want to know your info into these rears... i mean ya'lls performance knowledge or a link to somthing
I want to know about spool vs posi 28 spline vs 35 and when it is necessary
and case info and identification and how hard or easy is setup

i will be goin with a 4.86 gear for the car and i mainly just know very little about the f**d rearend

I would strongly recommend a back brace if the housing is a factory stock one that isn't from a full sized F150 or one of the heavy duty housings from a Torino or Rancho (Look to see if it has 3.25" dia axle tubes). Most stock 9" housings are prone to bending. Moser and others sells kits to weld on for about 75 bucks. I also strongly recommend a Daytona type aftermarket pinion support setup with bearings. Again Moser, MW, Currie etc can all help you out here... these go for about 100 bucks.

If you are real serious performancewise, you may want to look into an aftermarket case as well... some of them are pretty weak and known for cracking in the bearing support area. Most folks have mixed feeling for anything but the N cases. If you want to change gears and get a spool and whatnot and are lost on setup you may want to look into buying a built third member.

Here is a good link with lots of info:

You can backtrack to quick performances page to check out what they have to offer. They have lotys of parts and seem to be as affordiable as anyone out there.
