I want to buy a set of roller rockers for my 454 BBC. CAT Power engine parts sells a roller rocker made from 15-5PH stainless steel(part # RKSS-454B1.73, www.catpep.com/catproducts/rockerarmandgirdle/stainlessroker.asp (http://www.catpep.com/catproducts/rockerarmandgirdle/stainlessroker.asp) ). The rockers look a lot like COMP Cam SS roller rockers. Are these good rockers. The rockers have a 1.73 ratio and will be used with a XE268 comp cam. Any feedback on the quality of these rockers?

I would just use stamped steel long slot rockers
The XE268 is a hydraulic flat tappet,correct?

.515/.520 lift?

I have a set of perfectly good used crane engerizers BBC for $100 without polylocks since i lost them, email me. I would NEVER Use CAT stuff in my engine, especiall a piece with a bunch of tiny needle bearings! I have heard of the CAT rocker arms coming apart and throwing bearings everywhere!

I would stay away from them. I think they are good for only 5000rpm's.

I don't know about how many RPMs and all that; but I sure won't send my money to China if I can help it. Which is where CAT comes from. It's the ultimate el cheeeepo chinesium kind of bargain-basement stuff.

Chinesium! Couldn't have said it better. Do you mind if I borrow that expression? It's wonderful.

They're much like the Proform rockers. No good in my opinion.
