Hi All,

I am thinking about getting a governor kit so that I can tweak my shift points, right now now it appears that I may need lighter springs. The ones that are installed currently are yellow. How many sets of lighter springs would there be in a kit than yellow, and what color are they?

Thanks,
Harry

Are you wanting to raise the shifts points slightly at part throttle?, or WOT? The springs and outer weights control mostly part throttle, and the inner weights WOT. The downshift cable must be used when trying to get WOT shift points at higher rpm's.

If you still have the factory weights, trying grinding them a bit.

One suggestion on buying a TH350 gov spring kit. Most I've seen are spring AND weight kits and go for around $50. About 1 1/2 yr ago I bought a Transgo shift improver kit called the "No YoYo" kit for about $15 that included an assortment of gov springs. I got the kit from www.bulkpart.com (http://www.bulkpart.com). My trans was shifting way too early probably from being out of a car with a much higher (lower numerically) rear gear than the 3.36 mine has. Springs from the kit with a little trial and error cured it.
