My Dad just bought a set of buckets for his '67 malibu project. The only issue is that they are '69 & up seats with '68 covers. I'm not concerned about the covers because I can recover them with the correct covers , but the backs and latches are all wrong. Is there a way to convert the style of latch to the correct '67-'68 latch?

I dont know how if the latches are interchangable. It might be worth it to sell those seats to a 69 or later guy and buy the correct set of seats you need.

You could just cover what you have with the 67 covers if your not worried about exact originality.

I looked at those pics...and my jaw hit the keyboard! Your work on that '67 is incredible. It is such a beautiful car! Your detailed account of its build deserves to be in a book. Nicely done in every aspect.
