Looking for a 7 blade fan to upgrade my 4 blade fan. Any suggestions like the package from groundup or how about the repo on ebay made by hugger performance? Anybody bought one and is the hugger fan made in the USA. I know I need a fan clutch any suggestions on that also. Thanks again.

if you want to move a bunch of air- and i know you do- then get a fan out of a late 80's Caprice cop car or pickup with HD cooling.
then just get an HD thermo clutch for that application.

Be careful with the fan shroud. The truck fans I checked out were all over 19 inch's and larger in diameter. OPG makes a 17.5 inch clutch 7 blade fan (around $72), I just installed one, works well with HD clutch purchased at the local parts store.

if the fan's too big for the shroud, it's not a hard thing to trim the blades down. using a good tin snips, just trim one of them until it clears, then make a paper template of the shape of the blade and use that as a pattern to trim the rest of them. deburr the edges with some sandpaper and fog a quick coat of black on it.

What brand is the fan from OPG and what fan clutch do you recomend for a 69 396 with A/C. What brand thermal or non thermal. My 69 does not have A/C but will have soon. Thanks for the help. Sorry about being late about replying.

I found a 7 blade fan out of an old Caddy in a wrecking yard last fall. Just have to get the shroud measurement first, so you know what you're looking for.

If you dont want any fitment problems watch ebay for an original GM 772 7 blade clutch fan. I often see them for sale on ebay and they go for anywhewre from $50-$200+ totally depending on cond & more importantly if someone with bucks needs that exact build date fan for their $100,000 LS6 Covertable resto, thats when they can get pricey.
If your not in a big rush watch ebay and i bet you will find one i a month or so,then you will have a no hastle bolt in fan that will fit your stock fan shroud, water pump, and thermostatic fan clutch.
