Im wanting to run a 18x12 rim with a p345/30-18 (27x13.5) tire. I know a 17x11 w/ p315/35-17 (26x12.5) will fit. I do not want to notch the frame rails, and I want to keep my rear seat. Has anyone here "flared" a quarter panel to fit larger tires? Im NOT talking about the old sixties type flares. I want to add room without it being to noticable. :beers:

OBTW I will be running coil overs in the rear as well.

Thanks - Ron

His custom bodywork DVD mainly deals with flaring wheel wells.

Any reason you do not want to mini tub it? It would be easier and no bondo compared to flaring the qp's. I will be mini tubbin my 67 in the next few weeks for the 335/20.

If I was to mini tub my car, than I would need to notch my rear frame rails. I dont want to do that. I also want to keep my rear seat. I just thought it might be easier to flare the quarters a little bit.

It ma be more of a headache to flare the qp's than to mini tub it. But you would need a quarter skin and some strips of metal maybe an inch to flare them out. It is possible, just the amount of work involved could be more time than expected.

I use to do bodywork for a living (10 years) Ive been doing bodywork since the age of 16. I just need some advise on how to go about it. Some pics would also be nice. Anyone here done this before? Has anyone here ever fit that size (27X13.5") tire on their Chevelle?

Thanks - Ron

Did you look throu the website that I provided?
John Kelly sells a video that is geared towards flaring. We are not talking bondo filled flares here. His methods are simple using simple tools producing a finish needing no filler...Eric
