Sorry I didn't make it, but between carb trouble's, and not wanting to get my car soaked till I get it painted, I just didn't go.

It's been raining here all morning, and I've been watching the Live Doppler all day, it don't look good.:(

Doesn't look like it rained too bad there. Look's like it was a decent turnout anyhow.

I think we had a great time. Ben left before we found who had the banner for the photo. Mike (loader1) wins the longest distance award for the NW crew, coming from Aberdeen. I had the best time meeting everyone. Hope we all can get together for the All Chevy Drags at Bremerton on the 2d of June.

As best as I remember in the photo from left to right are:

Me, Mike (loader1), Frank (Flink69SS), don't remember the next guy but that's his awesome red 69 on the left, Darryl's son, Darryl (FRYNTYR), George (kettbo), Brett (Brettd85).

Yes it was a great time. A little damp but tolerable. That is a great picture.
Mark (GOTAGO) and Brett (BRETT85) both won plaques for honorable mention... It is 6:30 and I hope poor Mike made it home to Aberdeen already. See you all next get together...

I'm glad you guys survived LOL

I got home from my first job @ 2:30 and just got called to head to North Bend for a tree down. Since I have my priorities in order I came here before heading out. :D

Hope to see you guys soon!

Brian (viper) that's a sweet '69 hope you get a chance to bring it out to play this summer!

Hey Men,
I was back in Aberdeen by 6:40. Really glad I went and got to meet everyone. Man you're quick with those pictures Mark. Weather really sucked but the sun was out when I got into town.
Your directions to get to the freeway were right on Frank, thanks!

Yep,,,,that was me in my 69.. Thanks for the kind words on how it sounds.

Was a pleasure to meet everyone there just wish the weather would have been better.

Gents, and Brett,

It was great to meet everybody! Nice to put faces to the names.
Would have liked to see Ben's ride and some of the others.....weather was crummy. Jim, Frank, Darryl, Mark, and Brett, nice rides! Super ride goes to Darryl's pal's red race car. Darryl's 68 Chevelle is super sharp.....look out all you show guys....

Darryl, Brett and myself went down the road to Darryl's used parts mega-warehouse and shop around 2pm. MONSTER GARAGE is an understatement. The old "most Chevy toys wins" category has got to go to Darryl. Between all the BSing, bench-racing, parts-swapping, educating Brett, swaying him to the true path of BBC greatness, watching it rain for several hours, etc, we actually got the new gears and posi into my Elky. Thanks Darryl, you da man!!! Initial break-in on jackstands, a road test, then garage clean-up. I left there around 7:20, near the house at 9:00, rain all the way. Had already gotten the call to pick up the daughter at 10 but later changed to 9:30 so glad I did not detour to Ben's.

The Elky is quite responsive, no lug taking off, she just goes when ya touch the gas pedal....gears are quiet, exhaust bearable. Car sounds tough on the road.

Can't wait for a the George-report, on 0-60 improvement and intense loss of traction ratings, once the gears are broke in good. Just think George, had we not B.S'd for three hours of the swap you could have been home by 6:00.

Wish the weather had been better so a few more people would have made Smokey point. That's more water my 69 has had on it than the last 20 years combined.

Finally,,,,,,,,, I loved everyone's rides. It's a pride thing for each person and their love for their car, no matter what state of showmanship the car is in. Mine is no where close to a show car but that's my baby and I'm proud of her. I know all of you are proud of your rides as well, and you should be.

Darryl,

Nice of you to fork over the ready-to-go HD con-rods w/ARP bolts and taking my HD rod cores. Good to have the pistons, rings, etc. I'm gonna mike the living daylights outa the crank I got from Mike 66SSfan up Ben's way. 99% sure polish-only. I'll shortly take the rotating assy for balance and get the pistons mounted. Thanks for volunteering to deck/surface true the block. Possibly, possibly could return to your place with my balanced assy at some point and build the engine at your place.....time will tell. Would make a good weekend project.

Thanks again for the gear change. You da man!
Will report any smoking tires....
Think I'll easily have the break-in miles by SAT. Do a gear oil change after work SAT then SMOKE-EM.

Of course we'll all want a video or pics....................

Got the gears changed just in time to go to Bremerton.

Mark, (gotago)

Yes, the gears are in, in time for Bremerton.
Would have to:
get inner fender to better mount the battery tray (front of passenger inner fender is GONE!)
get btty holddown
get water catch can (or home-brewed assembly)
Probable biggest obsticle would be enough scheduled free time.
I'm not off to Thailand but ROTC Camp is straight though.....
I'll have to balance my limited time off with family and stuff until this fall.

Film coverage of me misbehaving? Ha!
I'll have to talk to my daughter about this techno stuff. I do have a photo site I'll include at some point. It may hold small video clips....and I do believe my camera takes short video films....
Gee, If I was a paying member, I could post pictures...

I would tell you that I believe the MPG went down on the return leg of the trip. DUH, no brainer, considering the length of the trip south and the extra rpm. Speedo/odo obviously out of whack with the gearswap. Think around town, IF I can keep my foot off the gas, I should pick up a bit of mpg. Car really takes off with no effort now. Seems "peppy" now. Expert ear Darryl seems to think the cam in the 350 sounds like a 327/350 horse cam so I'm anxious to buzz here a bit. With the previous 2.56 gears, buzzing the engine took several miles (just 1st gear!).

Now you got it. Fairly easy to do, I do find it frustrating though that you cant attatch something from your computer. Instead it has to be on the web somewhere.

Since you didn't get to see my 55 straight axle car (by the way, it'll be back in three weeks) here's a pic of my maiden voyage.

So, I'm having so much fun with this picture stuff, I need to share my Laguna pic with you all.
I know it's not the most disirable body style but this car is a factory 454 car, buckets, console, fact tac, black on black. Very rare. Original engine is sitting in my shop under a bench and a potent alternate 454 resides in it.

Mine is the green one in front. 427 tunnel ram, 4- speed, 9 inch with 4.56's

My other 55 with the blown 427 isn't a straight axle car. When I get a pic of it on Photobucket (it's in my yahoo pics) I'll post it.

Ok, ok, so here's my other 55 (George and Brett should recognize the driveway). It's getting some work done that I'm trading machine work for right now. Was suppose to have it back 9 months ago. Still not home.

Powered by a 6-71 blown 427, muncie 4-speed, narrowed 9 inch with 4.10 posi. Ladder bars/coil overs, mini tubbed with 15.5 mickys under it (did not cut narrow the frame. New Torque thrust D's all around. This is the one I've had since I was 17,,,,obviously still work in progress.

Ya, I need to get down there again. Is there room to bury me out back when I'm done?:D Dead and buried in Chevy Heaven.

Since I had the Chevelle all dressed up, with nowhere to go Yesterday, Today I took her for a spin.:hurray: Loaded up a set of tools, got some extra oil/water, and headed out. Made it out to La Conner, then to Conway, out the back way to Lake Mcmurray, then home on 9. About a 90 miles, without a hitch.

I do have a strange vibration, very minor, but down low just when I'm getting on the gas. Might have to do with the pinion angle, need to get her up on a rack, where I can actually work under there to check the angles out. But I think I'm gonna start by having the guy who built my driveline, check that,

I guess us older fellas need to keep Brett around for additional technical advice on computer usage. Maybe I'll figure out how to put a video on the net.
