I am almost at the point now of putting in my new floor.
I brought the front 2 braces and full lenght pans. Anyhow as I was laying things out I notice the holes for the seat belt nuts were on the wrong side of the brace (see picture)

The "X's" are where the are in the car now and the "arrow's" show them in the new braces.

Is this how they all are or did they give me the wrong brace
These I think are the US braces (brought from NPD)

Yeah, it does look that way Shaun. I'm wondering if the raw sheetmetal got stamped upside down. :(

not sure but I also have 2 out of the 4 piece front brake line kit with fittings that are opposite to what they should be.

What you have is a center brace for a 65-67 Chevelle floor. I just looked at my brace and it matches your new brace. You can still use it if you want to.

Aren't resto parts wonderful? Ask me how I know. I still have the car, that I bought new in '69, left to restore. I don't know if my nerves and patience can stand to deal with another round of restoration parts that don't fit and body shops that you can't count on. The only other thing to do is grit your teeth and dive in. With all these parts that don't fit, you just have to use your ingenuity to figure out how to make things work.
I contacted GM USA and GM Canada about the quality of their GM Licensed parts. Both women just gave me brush off BS answers. Perhaps GM cares but these two obviously didn't. I'm not even sure that they understood what I was talking about.

Thanks guys.
Just for fun I double checked the book and it says they are good for 64-72.

Mocked it up tonight and it runs in a little different spot than the one I took out. Hope the Imported floor pans are out enough to match up in the end:D.

Guess the good part is it's only a car for driving/racing and generally having a fun time in.
So I'll try and make them work the best I can. :D
So far it's all been about learning as I have never done anything like this and am not even sure if I am doing it right.

Give me a motor-tranny-rear end or anything like that and I feel a little more at home, but this:confused::confused::confused:
