Any idea on how many were made? Got a call from a guy who says he has one and asked me to come look at it. Engine is out of the car on a stand so it would be easy to check numbers. Owner has a POP and other docs.
he is the 3rd owner and has had it for a few years only driving it about 5 times and before that it was in a garage for 20 years.

What do I look for in a car like this?

I am impressed there are so many good finds over on the islands.
I really had no idea.

Best find yet was a 68 DANA 427 Camaro with DOCS that is now part of a collection in Vegas. Car sat on jack stands since late 1970 and has 1,719 Org miles on it and though it needs a complete restoration its all there. V/Top after cleaning up is as tight as it was from the day it was installed. The past owners put navel jelly on the sheetmetal to stop the surface rust and didnt rinse it off so it crusted but thank goodness it didnt harm the metal underneath. Look for that car to be in the major magazines soon :)

They're here, just gotta get the owners to sell. I know of a couple Mopars in garages, sitting under covers. Can't see all the details, but they have Dana 60's in them.

Jeff, that '71 Chevelle 'vert, the blue one with SS stripes, I though I saw the owner packing a van the other day, moving out. Doesn't look like the whole family's going, just him. He's around the corner from me. Wife would kill me, so I thought I'd let you know. ;)

I will have to check up on the Blue Vert :)

Anyway the 70 L78 has its ups and downs. Body wise its in almost perfect shape. A past owner decided to perserve is by getting it Zeibarted not once but twice. So much that it covers the fender tag and all you can see is the outline of it. The short block is off to the side coded CTY and the heads are in storage in the back of the garage. car was repainted about 20 years ago and man does it shine. Interior is org with the exception of the carpet which was replaced. Cowl induction hood but no flapper.

Check out the first pic of the fender tag

Did I see an A/C duct in the interior? Was this added afterwards by someone?
Never seen a solid lifter car with air as yet?

Bi level heater ducts

Will that Ziebart coating blast off?
Or is it like the POR, non removeable.

The Ziebart on our '72 Lemans Sport was completely dried out and on like paint. I took most of it off with a scraper and used steel wool and a solvent to get the rest off of the inner fenders. The stuff was actually useless as it didn't creep into the cracks, crannies and door hems where it was needed. I couldn't see where it did any good at all.

I will have to check up on the Blue Vert :)

Better hurry, Jeff, it's no longer under the carport. It's moved out next to the fence, facing the street now. Looks like it's leaving soon.
