Hi guys. I've searched all over the forum and haven't found a solution so here 's my question:
I bought a 1 1/4" front sway bar (brand new) and it touches the bottom of the power stering box that I have installed. The power steering box is from a 197? Monte Carlo that I found in a wrecking yard. It barely touches on a part of the steering box that looks like it would be ok to grind off some.
The small area that hits the sway bar is a little "nodule" for a better word about 1/2" by 1/2" an is set off the bottom of the casting. If I can grind 3/16" off this without hurting the steering box, I should have enough clearance.
Does anyone know if I can safely grind up to 1/4" off the piece that sticks down off the power steering gear box? Has anyone else encountered thishttp://mysite.verizon.net/resrwgss/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/steering_gear_interference.jpg
