Well went to the local auto part store(NAPA)to get a new pinion seal for my 12 bolt i`m rebuilding,so i got it but it seems to be smaller than my pinion yoke,they gave me part # 17190 NAPA/SKF pinion seal,any help appreciated.

just because you have abox does not mean the correct part is in it. Unless the box box is sealed and even then there is a chance it could be wrong. Do you some diameter dimensions or part number on the item (seal) Jim

Jim,looked at the Napa websight and it states part # 17190 seal for 12 bolt chevy pinion seal,theres another part # for a 10 bolt,wtf??

That is a corperate 8.5 yoke. It will work but you need a different seal conversion seal. They are good strong yoke so do not discard it. The part number is: 9844n national seal. tell them to cross reference that. Ok? Jim

This seal will have the same outer diameter for your 12 bolt housing press fit but will have the larger diameter seal inner diameter to fit the yoke surface.

If they can not help you I have them and will sell you one no problem. Ok? Jim

stronger than a 12 bolt original yoke. Not quite the 1350 but the next best thing and is GM . Jim

Uses the 1330 joint with inner cup clips.

Tried to cross reference on the NAPA sight but tells me the # is no good,Does this take a 1350 u-joint?i`d really rather have a 12 bolt yoke.

Telling you it is a good yoke. The more metal aroung the splined stem the better and more horses the yoke will handle. Jim

I will try that #,i understand it may be a strong yoke but i want to put a 1350 on there rather an a 1330 joint.

the shaft is 1.94.. on your corp yoke

the 12 bolt yoke shaft diameter is 1.739

the inner diameter of your housing seal hole is 2.812

both seals are the same outer diameter. 8622 is your part number but the price is way out of line.... 7.50 with shipping included from me. JIM

try 3513 part number that is almost identical to 8622 seal seal width is a little less...meaning the contact of the seal surface is a little less than the 8622 surface by .028 NOT much at all. what is the price on that? Jim

The seal inner diameter has to be slightly smaller SO IT SEALS of course...lol. that is what makes the seal -seal . also do not forget to lube up the yoke shaft and the seal BOTH oil or grease works very well .
