When adjusting coil overs,do you tighten in on the spring to raise it or lower the car.I want to raise the rear of the car a little bit. Thanks

The only coil over I have ever worked on just changed preload/stiffness not ride height but that was 1 car.

They are also used to change ride height

How much of a height change will you get lowest to highest?

I'm running the HAl/QA1 coil over conversion kit (with a custom shock, doesn't affect ride height). I can change the ride height of my car by 3" with a tapared small block spring. I was using the big block spring but found that to be too stiff. I think there may be as much as 4" of adjustability in this system, but I've never raised them that high. I've found on my coilover setup that adjusting the spring too high can hurt weight transfer. In addition to loosing some of the front end travel, by raising the coilover too much you may find that you're already extending the shock rod at normal ride height. In turn the shock rod can then become the limiting factor in how far the front end can rise when the car launches. To help with this I had a longer shock rod installed in my coilover kit. Of course at some point you you'll hit the jounce bumpers. Through testing I've determined that my car works better if the front end has 5"-6" of upward travel. To get this I have to run the front end ~2" lower than the rear.
