well after much debate with myself I decided to switch my muncie out and go with a th400 that I picked up. Will my crossmember work and what else do I have to change?

I know that for 66-67 chevelles you can use the same cross member you just need to slide it back a couple inches on the frame. The bolt holes are already in the frame to drop it back.

I'm putting a big block in my el camino and I came across a th400 for cheap. So now I'm putting the 4 speed stuff in my 64 since it only has a 355cc smallblock. After talking to people to somebody that had an m21 that blew it up behind a big block, I just don't want to chance ruining a good tranny. I sure as heck don't baby my stuff, so I figure my m21 will have a better fighting chance behind the smaller engine. I was thinking of going the autogear m22 or tremec route but this way I will save money since I got the th400 so cheap. Will I need a different driveshaft also?

Anything drove hard enuff can blow up? Its not hot rodding
Its the way You unload on stuff that causes problems.
For instance tire spin will not usually break stuff.
Its when you dump clutch on a good road with slicks
You will find all the weak links. The weakest point so to speak.
A M21 Has a 2.20 first gear. A M 20 has a 254 first gear
Yes you will have to use a different yoke for 400 turbo
Drive shaft length should be close enuff not to cause problems
