I think I have figured out how to wire my 700r4 after about a month of research. Would like to hear from the transmission guys if they think this will or will not work. I think a picture of my internal wiring will be listed below.

If I understand correctly, I have a two wire TCC solenoid (at top of picture), a 1-wire N.O. 4th gear pressure switch (single light blue terminal), a 2-wire N.C. 4-3 downshift pressure switch (dual red terminals), and a thermal switch that is open until trans heats up (black plug with 2 black wires and 2 brown wires).

I plan to run a wire from 12v power to a N.C. brake switch to the A terminal of the tranny plug. That will go thru the 4-3 pressure switch and connect to the positive side of the two wire TCC solenoid. This will prevent lockup when brakes are applied and also during the 4th to 3rd downshift. The neg side of the TCC solenoid will be wired to the thermal switch and then to the 4th gear pressure switch. This will prevent lockup unless tranny is in 4th gear.

Also plan to run a second wire from the thermal switch (same terminal that connects to the 4th gear pressure switch) to the B terminal and then to an external switch and then to ground. If this switch was in open position I will have 4th gear lockup only, if it is in the closed position I will have 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear lockup.

Am I even close? :D

I will try and post a wiring diagram when I get it together.

Here is the wiring diagram.

well, the kit you can get from GM just uses the 4th gear pressure switch (blue terminal in your pic) to ground the solenoid. on my Monte, i ran the power wire from the fusebox thru a brakelight switch i had laying around from (i think) a mid 80's Cutlass i tore apart. the thing is, tho, that you need a pressure switch that is normally open so that pressure grounds out the solenoid when it goes in 4th gear.. the switch they give you in the kit is normally closed, and doesn't work in any application. my first 700 was out of a '92 Caprice cop car, and it had the correct pressure switch in it. but after that trans blew for no reason, i put a trans out of an 84 Z28, and it doesn't have the correct pressure switch and the lockup doesn't work.
