: My driveshaft is too short

I recently swapped my TH350 for a new BTO 2004R. Driveshaft is too short by about 1 1/4". Local shop says it can be done but would be better off to build a new one. Would be much cheaper for me to find another longer shaft and have them cut it to length....option 2 is to build a new aluminum shaft.

BTW...shaft is too short...I cut it down when I went from PG to TH350 a few years back and it is too short...really.

Suggestions?

I aggree,get a new one.

I know somone that had a std steel shaft built for a 69 velle approx 2 yrs ago, cost $295 with new yoke/new u-joints/& ballance.

Unfortunately the driveshaft builder has since retired & the shop doesnt offer this service anymore.

I just went thru this except it was a 700R4. The yoke only went 1.75 inches up into the tailhousing. The driveline shop had a tailhousing we slipped over the yoke. It went past the bushing but it bothered me so I had it lengthened. Cost $150 here. Good luck.
