I'm completely re-doing the seats in my '72. I'm getting confused on what to use for padding on the rear bench. It's been hard to find (actually OPG has it listed in their catalog) and searching the forum confused me even more. The seat currently has rotted foam I want to replace, but some older posts have stated GM didn't use foam in the rear bench seat? Can someone straighten me out here?
Thanks as always.

Looking under mine, I see sinuous springs and burlap. I think there is some padding between the cover and the burlap, but not much.

Your seat has burlap with very thin wires in it...this layer rests on the springs to support the cushion and the seat back I think...:D Then there is a foam "bun"...and on top of the bun is a cotton topper...you put the steam on them pull like a son of a buck and hog ring the wire filled listing tape to the cardboard covered anchor wire until it is smoother than a baby's @ss...put all the plastic trim on and what not...and you have one the coolest car seats ever made IMO...
