: Paint in 2 weeks...Help decide color...
Jr1964 May 13th, 07, 1:16 AM I've narrowed it down to two colors, can't decide which!:noway:
They are both newer Corvette colors, but I think either would make my '64 look good.
Tell me what you think, I'll post pics of my final decision after it's painted.;)
The Blue...

Chris Stanwyck May 13th, 07, 5:06 AM Blue by me.
chevl71 May 13th, 07, 8:38 AM Jr.
I'd go with the blue first, but maybe I'd biased. I used a similar color on my '71. I've had many compliments on that shade of blue.
Ironically, I'm looking at a similar orange for my next project.
Great minds must think alike
hpsherlin May 13th, 07, 3:24 PM I love that blue.
Herbie
moonie527 May 13th, 07, 5:10 PM I say blue as well. The orange/rust colors that are so popular right now are going to seem dated in a few years. Blue is always cool.
Jblack May 14th, 07, 3:33 PM Well I'm gonna say ORANGE!!!! :beers:
72 Custom Elky May 14th, 07, 3:39 PM I say the "ORANGE " too....will be different and stand out instead of blending in.
ssal396 May 14th, 07, 3:48 PM Well I'm gonna say ORANGE!!!! :beers:
I'm with him......That's a GREAT looking orange  :beers:
ss396boy May 14th, 07, 3:49 PM Well I'm gonna say ORANGE!!!! :beers:
Your car is sick man! How long that take you to get from torn down to back on the street?
LateNight72 May 14th, 07, 5:06 PM My vote: Orange!
64chevy May 14th, 07, 6:58 PM Gotta go for the blue... think it works better on a classic...

moonie527 May 14th, 07, 8:28 PM You don't have to worry about blending in if you drive a chevelle, no matter what color it is.
Jimmy P May 14th, 07, 8:40 PM If it were mine, I'd go with a factory color, but, your 64 looks rad enough to pull off that orange. I love blue, but you car screams Orange to me.
ORANGE!
19malibu67 May 15th, 07, 2:21 AM sweet ride man! id have to go with the blue.. but.... you know it will look good no matter what!!! very nicely done. what size rims are those? 17"s?
Jblack May 15th, 07, 7:37 AM Your car is sick man! How long that take you to get from torn down to back on the street?
It was two years start to finish...Of course I've been changing things over that last two as well.
robtco99 May 15th, 07, 10:30 AM I'd go blue.
That orange looks kinda brown at night-I did research on many oranges a couple years ago when I was painting my truck. I ended up painting it prowler orange-a stock 01? plymouth color. Looks redish at night and when the sun hits it look out-looks like a candy and amazing. I think it has 8 different types of pearl stock. So that might be something to look into if you're going orange...
71350SS May 15th, 07, 9:55 PM There was a corvette in the shop next door with that orange paint and its one color I'd love to put on the elky.I say corvette sunset burnt orange.
lt1chevelle May 16th, 07, 12:09 AM go with blue. iam painting my 65 blue and was also considering some sort of gost flames here is the blue iam painting mine it off a 96 vette

1970SS396&1967 May 24th, 07, 1:55 AM I like the ORANGE, its  !!!
Audies71Malibu May 24th, 07, 4:17 PM I'm going to paint my 71 that color orange one of these days! ORANGE for me w/ no flames.
melrose May 24th, 07, 4:54 PM Orange please
Widetires22 May 25th, 07, 12:11 AM Those are two entirely different personalities man!
I like both colors, guess I would choose the blue. But then I like more subtle colors.
Lionel-n-Chevelles May 25th, 07, 12:34 AM Definitely blue. Try Fathom Blue. It is a 68 Camaro Color, Paint Code E
LateNight72 May 25th, 07, 9:55 AM Please don't pick blue. Everyone and their brother has blue.
Go Orange!
bdss396 May 25th, 07, 12:34 PM I like the blue the best. I'd probably like a more traditional orange better. Nice looking car, I think whatever you decide will look good:thumbsup: .
docaudio May 25th, 07, 7:35 PM Hey Jim,

JYags May 25th, 07, 10:03 PM I'd leave it the way it is now, the flat black primer looks rad. ;)
gasoline_fiend May 25th, 07, 10:35 PM Atomic Orange!!!! It'll make the body lines POP in the sun.
GS470 May 25th, 07, 10:50 PM I'm a serious "blue" guy (the toys in the sig are blue, my pickup is blue), but that orange is gorgeous, too. Yup, I'm on the fence. Good luck with your choice, but you can't lose either way. Both look good in the photochop.
chevelless502 May 26th, 07, 8:58 AM I vote for orange, go different and its not so wild and bright that it will grow old fast.
Andy
Racing May 26th, 07, 10:00 AM I like both colors! There are a lot of blue Chevelles. The Atomic orange will make the car stand out from the rest. Uh, you need two Chevelles. :D
fmfrm250 May 28th, 07, 2:25 AM ANy color you choose will be awesome as all GM muscle cars are awesome. Personally I think both of those colors look best on the new corvettes. Honestly I think with the polished or chromed wheels you should paint it the black like the gas tank with the blue flames. I think that would look unbelievably awsome!! Just my two cents. You have to look at it everyday though! NICE CAR!!!!
6malibu6 May 28th, 07, 6:52 PM I have a '66 Malibu in Marina Blue. I love the color on my car, but if I had to repaint it, it'd be just like the bike tank in the pics. That deep black with the blue ghost flames coming through make me want to go and sand mine down right now!
