I was looking at a 67 super sport for sale on e-bay. The owner says its a true 138 car but its non posi. I thought all super sports came with limited slip standard. Was it a option? Thanks, Jim.

I would bet it was an option. Somehwere I have an original dealer order book with all the options broken out by model. In 67 GM was trying a little harder and would sell you what you wanted.

How much documentation does this guy have that the car is the real deal?

Every piece can and is faked, the build sheet, the protecto plate, serial number plates get swapped and you can buy the correct rivets off Ebay and instructions on how to install, so how good is it?????

I believe the ONLY required thing to make it a S.S. was a 396 !! everything else was an option !!!
its also one of the main reason today we have so much trouble with ID's there are STRIPPED to the bone S.S. cars

an there are LOADED TO the hilt Malibus and of course everything in between
& lots of people on Ebay selling fake ID tags to make it what you want it to be !!

Positraction was optional on all SS's.

Thanks for all the quick replies. The owner had pictures posted of the trim tag and vin. #. I just thought it was odd to have a SS with a non posi. Jim.

I have been told that the ' 67 SS's had the additional support brace at/near the rear lower control arms & the non-SS cars didn't. I also was told that most people putting together clones don't go to the trouble to add those braces.
Just a thought & repeating what I have been told.
